parking ticket

Got a $100 parking ticket yesterday for parking after 9AM on a street-sweeping day. How do I know it's a street sweeping day? There's a bright orange sign at the end of the block that says so. See it? By the stop sign? See it? It's about 100 feet away down the street. You can click on the picture to make it bigger... see it now?

Just for clarity, there was another sign too, only about 50 feet behind the car, and tied to the fence that's about 20 feet back from the curb.

See it? It's bright orange. See it?

Yikes. It's still only $65 here when you neglect alternate-side. Which happens twice a week. Which seems like pretty much every day when you're moving the car at 10:55 on a Friday, and moving it back at 12:23 an hour and a half later. Are you getting the sense that I had to move the car today?

But it's $115 if you forget to move the car back and leave it double-parked. Go ahead. Ask me how I know that.

Ouch for both of you.

I'm enjoying our free parking and private garage quite a bit. And the pool shaped like Texas. And the 80-degree December weather.
