Compassion and Joi
Spent the day completing the final editing and tweaking of the Ohio State University Symponic Winds performance of "Courage & Compassion" and WIND ENSEMBLE X's performance of "TranZendental Danse of Joi". It was a long day, but the time flew by.
It was really interesting to revisit the "C&C" recording -- I remember how excited I was to hear an ensemble really dig in and REALLY play the piece. It was also a tremendous relief -- after over a year of writing and polishing, I felt like I could finally let this piece go.
And the "TZDoJ" performance is AWESOME. We're going to use the live performance instead of the recording session, just because the energy is so fresh and alive! Yeah, there's some granola here and there, but it's worth the vibe. And wait till you hear the wailin' sax solo...
